Cheng San Toastmasters Club

Last night I had the chance of attending a Cheng San Toastmasters Club. It has quite a few years since I last attended 1, however, moving forward, since I am going to speak more, I need to brush up on my public speaking skills. In fact, there have this thing called – Table Topics whereby you are given a topic right on the spot and you have to talk for about 1 – 2 minutes about the topic. My topic was “The Stability of the Structure is directly related to the Security of the Foundation”. I was told that it is a phyics topic which I have absolutely no clue about it. Then again, the spot light is on me already so I have to speak no matter what. Quite thankfully I was able to relate to why I came to Toastmasters Club last night as I believed in order to speak well, I need to have a good solid foundation because without it, the structure that I built on top will collapse in time to come…

I guess I pulled it off, phew, as I was one of the 3 “Best Table Topics” speakers of the night. 🙂
